India is home to many rituals traditions and beliefs Is there any scientific base behind these rituals or are we just following them with a blind eye? Let's find out.

Namaste

Hygenic way of greeting our guests without physical touch, the Fingertips of both our hands touch each other while doing namaste which activates acupressure points that make us more attentive to listen to the other person.
Touching The Feet

To touch the feet, we bend forward and touch the left foot with our right hand and the right foot with our left hand. In this process, we complete the energy cycle. According to science, energy enters our body from the head and flows toward the feet. When we touch the feet of elders with our hands, the cycle of electromagnetic energy is completed. The feet become the
center of energy
The Ringing of Bells in The Temple

The bell is rung to keep the atmosphere of the temple pure and holy. This removes negativity and communicates positive forces. Also, it has a profound effect on the human brain and mind. This also reduces stress. The bell used in the temple is made of bronze Bronze is an alloy, which is made from the addition of copper and zinc, or copper and tin. Bronze is harder than copper and melts at a lower temperature. That's why bronze can be easily cast. Because it is harder than copper, it is more likely to break when squared. That's why temple bells are made round.
Periods Are Not Unholy

Yes, Periods are not at all unholy, All the beliefs related to periods like not entering the temple and kitchen are baseless & unscientific.
These practices were prevalent in ancient India because people were not aware of menstrual products like Pads, Tampons, etc. Thus periods at that time were unhygienic but it was never unholy. It is advised not to eat pickles during the periods because it has a high amount of salt that can dehydrate our already hormonally imbalanced body. If women are not allowed to touch the jar even from outside then it is completely illogical Periods are a blessing of God given to women, not a curse.
Why we should Not Eat during Eclipse

Whenever there is a Solar Eclipse or a Lunar Eclipse, during this time all people are advised to avoid eating anything and it is also mentioned in the scriptures. It is mentioned in the holy Skanda Purana that those who eat food during a solar eclipse, their health gets affected and they suffer from ill health. because food gets affected by harmful rays that are dim during the eclipse but this was true only in ancient times when food was cooked on the chulas under the sky, but following these rituals nowadays is useless because today our kitchens are equipped with modern amenities like refrigerator and gas stoves where sky and eclipses have no role to play.
Sitting on the floor while Eating

Sitting down on the floor, with crossed legs (Sukhasana) improves our digestion process. The cross-legged position enhances blood circulation in our body. It keeps the heart healthy. In Sukhasana, blood flow is distributed evenly throughout the body.
Worship of Peepal Tree

This tree is considered sacred in Hinduism and Buddhism, Plants take in carbon dioxide (CO2) and release oxygen (O2) during day time when they undergo the process of photosynthesis and they take in O2 and release CO2 during the night as a result of respiration, but the peepal tree is a tree which gives oxygen for 24 hours.
Idol Worship

Indian culture encourages idol worship, You know why? Hinduism considers idols as a focus point. when we are stressed or worried concentrating our mind on one point or thing relaxes the mind that is why it becomes easier for a person to find solutions to all the problems when we divert our mind towards the idol.
Walking Barefoot

Indian people remove footware outside the places of worship but why? Most of the places of worship are built in natural surroundings.Walking barefoot in natural surroundings brings us in contact with the earth. This transfers the earth’s energy into ourbody through acupressure points This reduces inflammation, stress, and pain and improves blood circulation, and sleep cycle. Walking barefoot also boosts strength and improves balance and posture.
To conclude we can say most of the indian rituals are scientific in nature but belief in tradition and cultural attributes should be an individual choice & the flexibility of attitude is key to bridging the generation gap.
