One of the biggest challenges in addressing women's subjugation is the glorification of this phenomenon. In some communities, women are seen as inferior to men and are expected to be submissive and obedient. Religious and cultural beliefs, social norms, and traditions often reinforce this mindset.

For example, women are worshiped in the Hindu religion as goddesses on one side and subjected to practices such as female infanticide child marriage, and honor killing, on the other side. These practices are often justified in the name of tradition or religion, but they are fundamentally violent and discriminatory. They violate women's human rights and perpetuate a culture of subjugation and inequality. Bollywood is one of the leading industries in terms of contributions to G.D.P, but here also actresses are paid less than actors, because of old age pre-conceived notion that 'Men work harder than women '.

This is nothing but another way to suppress women.

Woman Subjugation and TV Shows

ree

The Indian daily soaps present a larger-than-life image of all the highs and lows of a woman's life. Even the simplest of happenings in her life has to be presented with great pomp and show, and of course, the 'Bahu' has to be one who's filled with all the goodness in the world. But Why? Can't these television shows let her live a normal life instead of showing her as 'devi' decked up in makeup from head to toe? The women on Indian TV don't seem to have a mind of their own, for they are very unidimensional in their choices and what they do. Television's bahu is made to compromise her self-esteem repeatedly to protect her family.

Solution

Change of mindset not only of men but also of women is the most important solution against subjugation. WOMAN SHOULD LEARN TO STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES. AND DEAR MAN PLEASE GET OVER YOUR BOSSY ATTITUDE.

  1. Dear husbands be proud if your wives are housewives because managing household chores along with kids is not a joke. If not a gold medal at least they deserve some respect and care.

  2. If your wife/mother is a working woman, she is juggling between household chores and responsibilities at the workplace. if she can perform this dual role efficiently. Why not man? What is the problem if any male or other family member helps them in managing cooking or cleaning chores?

  3. Dear directors and producers of our so-called daily soaps it's a humble request to stop portraying women as a brainless human and realize the impact you can create in society, In this modern world Female characters need to be portrayed as strong, confident, and independent woman with an unbiased opinion of their own.

Conclusion

Women's subjugation is a complex and deeply entrenched problem that requires a multi-faceted approach to solve. While progress has been made in recent decades, much work remains. The glorification of women's subjugation in some cultures is a major obstacle to achieving gender equality, and it's up to all of us to challenge this harmful mindset. By working together to educate, advocate, and push for policy changes, we can create a world where women are valued, respected, and empowered to live their lives to the fullest.
