FROM RICHES TO RAGS: INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS

Indian National Congress was a major political party in pre Independence era & played a very important in the freedom struggle of India, post-independence also congress gave many strong personalities like J.L.Nehru, Indira Gandhi, &Rajiv Gandhi as leaders, but congress is losing its charm.

In my opinion, the downfall started after the victory of the U.P.A. in 2004 when Dr. Manmohan Singh was made prime minister but he was never given real power the government was run by the Gandhi family, behind the scene the foolish move earned the tag of "remote control government" to the government led by an intelligent man like Dr.Singh.This was a huge mistake.

Record victory of N.D.A. (2014 elections)Narendra Modi's image of people's leader was a major blow to congress &its vote share, Congress failed to utilize the popularity of its youth leaders like Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Scindia in its favor, congress forgot "KARMA COMES BACK TO YOU" ultimately Scindia went to BJP

Recently just before the Punjab Assembly poll 2022 Captain Amrinder Singh one of the most popular congress C.M. for so many years resigned, because of the rift between Navjyot Sidhu &Amrinder Singh &congress top leadership let him go without realizing public sentiments& now he has formed new party "PUNJAB LOK CONGRESS" giving competition to once his own congress as result Aam Aadmi Party took away the C.M.seat from Congress in one of major state hitting the nail in the coffin.

According to the current scenario, it will be a surprise for many of us to know that in the first general elections in 1952 congress won 21 states, Post-independence many regional parties like D.M.K., AIDMK, BSP, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party & many others have reduced the vote share of not only congress but alsoB.J.P.

But with leaders like Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, etc BJP has revived its position in the majority of states but Rahul Gandhi failed to gain the popularity enjoyed by Rajiv& Indira Gandhi, This is the reason why Congress is left in power only in Rajasthan&Chattisgarh.

To conclude we can say that its high time for Congress to correct its mistake, Congress needs to make organizational changes, Gandhi family should step back as leaders, so that no other congress government earns the tag of "remote control government "young leaders like Sachin Pilot, Deependra Hooda, etc should be given a fair share of respect &responsibility so that it can gain lost public support & no other Scindia &Jitin Prasad is forced to leave congress midway. Congress also needs to build strong opposition in Lok Sabha along with other parties which is necessary for the healthy functioning of democracy.
